Nearly 47,000 customers are out of power across Marion County as Hurricane Milton moves across Florida as a Category 2 hurricane.

The eye of the storm is currently located 110 miles south of Ocala, with wind speeds of 105 mph. The storm is moving east-northeast at 16 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Locally 46,962 utility customers across Marion County do not have power. Of those, 21,326 are Duke Energy, 11,189 are Ocala Electric Utility, 10,452 are SECO Energy and 3,995 are Clay Electric Cooperative, according to Find Energy.

If you come across any downed trees or power lines, report them to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Information Line at (352)369-7500, which will be active throughout the storm.
