The Nutcracker

The annual Christmas ballet will once again grace the stage at the Reilly Arts Center. Written in 1892 by the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, many of the songs and images associated with the ballet have become associated with the Christmas holiday itself. In the play, a young girl named Clara saves the Prince, a magical nutcracker doll come to life, who transports her on a journey to the Kingdom of Sweets. Audience members will be able to see these extravagant dances and costumes as the story comes to life in front of their eyes and ears.
